Spring Flower Crown
Spring Flower Crown
Polar bears and flower crowns - two of my favourite things in life. Painted in tribute, celebration and hope.
The polar bear is a marine mammal but it is the frozen sea on which it is dependant for hunting, mating and travel. In the spring , when the sea ice breaks up, thanks to our warm climate, the polar bear faces months without its necessary diet of the ringed seal. To survive, it must have had a successful winter hunting. It is a spring hero for the challenges it faces and the successes of the past.
I had a bit of fun painting this polar bear portrait. Farmhouse chic was popular and I challenged myself to create the polar bear painting that would go with vintage farmhouse decor because original art and polar bear art really does go with any decor.
So this polar bear has a flower crown, some areas that are "worn" (symbolizing the bear's vulnerability) and plenty of white, black, and orange pinky colours.
This painting has a unique wc (work completed) number and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
The sides of the panel are painted black and it is wired ready for hanging.
12”h x 6” w x 1.5” oil painting on a wood panel.
