About SteadyTeddy (The Polar Bear King is Calm)

There is always a story to my Polar Bear King paintings.  The imagined emotion on the bear’s face, the placement of the bear in relation to the sun, and the artwork’s title all contribute to that story. 

In Steady Bear, this teddy bear of a polar bear appears calm and well fed. We look up at him, centred on the picture frame, the sun radiates behind him. He's one, big important dude, he's well fed, and he's feeling comfortable in his surroundings.

The metallic gold paint plays a large part as it symbolizes the richness of nature, the royalty of the apex predator bear. It also symbolizes climate change and our warming planet.

This is a mixed media (graphite and black, white and metallic gold) painting on a 6" h x 12” w x 1 3/8" deep canvas. The edges are painted gold. It is wired and ready to hang. I supply a Certificate of Authenticity.
