"Blue Prince" is the Spanish, French and Italian reference for "Prince Charming". And this polar bear is definitely arctic royalty, - highly intelligent and the apex predator of the arctic. He is also one charming bear, despite his ferociousness - handsome, strong, and playful.

Do you know that blue is the no. 1 favourite colour in the world? Deep blue symbolizes intelligence, dignity, trust, and authority. Light blue represents spirituality. It is also the colour we associate with nature, blue sky and water. All appropriate for this well loved polar animal.

I this painting, we wonder, what is the polar bear looking at, out there in the inky blue darkness.

In artwork, a face looking to the right is looking to the future, and looking to the left is towards the past. This bear is standing solidly in place - his past and future fates at a crossroads - what will be the fate of our furry hero?

Hopefully, the future ahead for this bear is not to be simply the stuff or folklore, (you know, once upon a time there was this great white bear) and that the polar landscape, polar animals, and the rest of the planet will have a fairy tale ending.
