My round polar bear portraits are created to give the illusion of a portal into the northern landscape and the polar bear's solitary ( but not lonely) journey - little windows of escape. The dancing northern lights and clear arctic sky give us a dramatic glimpse into this magical world.

I use light in my paintings to symbolize hope. The dark blue of the sky symbolizes the royalty and intelligence of these bears. The stars reflect in the polar bear’s eyes.
