A Very Blue Prince ( A Polar Bear Tale)
Meet The Blue Prince, a 30" x 40" polar bear oil painting. Why have I titled this painting, The Blue Prince?
Well, aside from the fact this mighty polar bear painting is created in dramatic shades of blue, this is a portrait of arctic royalty, and polar bears, highly intelligent, and the largest and mightiest arctic predator, are often referred to as the Lords of the North.
The Blue Prince, the Spanish, French and Italian reference for Prince Charming. And despite his ferociousness, the polar bear is extremely charming. Intelligent, handsome, strong, and playful, too.
Blue symbolizes intelligence, dignity, trust, and authority. Light blue is spiritual. Oh, and did you know that Blue is the no. 1 favourite color in the world? How appropriate for this well loved polar animal.
In Korea, blue is the colour of mourning, and in North America, if sad, we have "the blues". I would most certainly mourn and have the blues at the serious decline of this magnicent species
Now the real question is, is The Blue Prince portrayed in this dramatic painting simply majestically posing for our enjoyment, or does he sense something behind him, out there in the inky blue darkness.
In paintings, a face looking to the right is looking to the future, and looking to the left is towards the past. This bear is standing solidly in place - headed to the past and to the future.
Hopefully, the future ahead for this possibly endangered animal is not to be simply the stuff or folklore, (you know, once upon a time there was this great white bear) and that the polar landscape, polar animals, and the rest of the planet will have a fairy tale ending.
The Blue Prince is wired and ready for hanging. Edges are painted white. A Certificate of Authenticity is supplied. For info on how The Blue Prince polar bear oil painting you can be yours, click here.
